Default Yahoo Messenger + Windows Live Messenger?

Yesturday I downloaded yahoo messenger to talk to a client I had just gotten. During installation I found out that yahoo messenger adn windows live messenger sort of teamed up. Now windows live users and yahoo users can talk to eachother. You can just add windows live buddies to your buddy list. Notice how aim isn't a part of this

Thanks for the information. I hadn't realized they teamed up now. I already use and like to use Yahoo Messenger for business.

Question

Really? If they teamed up. I guess they are trying to pull Google down. 'Coz Yahoo (#2) and MSN (#3) are both being overthrown by Google. Unlike previous years Yahoo is number one.. Tsk tsk... what happened.

You've been able to do this for about half a year now. I think the decision probably came to stop google IM from progressing further especially with their Voip feature.

Similarly you can add people on yahoo from msn messenger, but you don't get all the features you would usually get e.g. nudges, or transferring files.

It's a great move by both the big companies. Now you can easily talk to your Yahoo contacts on MSN Messenger and vice versa. Probably these two were threatened by rapid popularity of Google's Gtalk. Good for people though
