I used to use AwardSpace.com, which is not too bad. There was another one, Dajoob.com, which has free unlimited hosting, but has quite a bit of downtime.

i have used awardspace and profusehost, also profusehost provides quick support.

Ya if you want to use free hosting find one that don't put any force ads. but don't expect to much services for free hosting. if you want to check out for free host I would recommend 50webs.com. anyhow they don't allow php.

If you are looking for free sub domain hosting, you can try 50webs and freewebs and there is a very new one on the block which is x10hosting.com which is also equally good these days.
