Default free or paid? which is better..

I think the free servers will suck us. But the paid servers will make us suck in getting money from us. So at the intial stage which one do you prefer. What eve r may happen, i will go for paid servers becuase i need efficient server uptime.

It depends on what site you want hosted IMO. If it is a personal site with no intentions of making any revenue form it, then go with the free hosts.

If you are planning to launch a site for business and revenue purposes, go with paid hosts with excellent facilities and post customer care

to me i will go with free while still building new sites. not much traffic and content yet so why waste the money. there are good free web hosting with no forces ads. but got to accept that free host has limitation. so don't think like you are having a big company when use their services.

Well IMHO, I'd go with a free hosting provider as long as it will suffice my needs as much as possible and it will not bring too much downtimes.

Now in a professional webmasters view, better get a paid hosting service or run your own host via a VPS or a dedicated server. But still, just my two cents.

I think they cannot be fairly compared. If you find a good free host (I wont mention my own, but it offers what Im noting) that has no pop-ups or tags all over your site, that is a good place to learn/start/develop . Free hosts give you the freedom to experiment with software at only the expense of time. Once you've committed to your apps, and forums, and domain names, then it would be a good time to consider upgrading to a pay service.

Its also a good place to get your young ones on the web without wasting monthly fee's. Generally free hosts will have a setup that is user friendly, that also helps.

Thats a good point.. free hosts generally will have decent uptime, but not uptime guarantee's . This should be understood beforehand. If you want guarantee's, backups, etc.. time to go with a paid host.
