Default Server change

I have never done this, but need some details regarding site transfer from one site to another site!
I use cpanel, and we have the option to create a backup and download it.
Now my question is that once we download the entire backup of a website (forums) how do we transfer it to another web server? how do we configure and how do we install it?

You probably would need FTP your files to the new server, and configure it if there is a need to (for example, update the script path, etc...)
For the database, you would need to recreate it based on the database schema and data you backed up.
You would need to use phpmyadmin to do that.

Most forum software has a Backup and Restore link in the control panel, make sure to use this to avoid complications with the transfer.

is it possible to FTP a file from a remote server to a another server? I think not. you still have to download everything and upload it to the new one.

why is it seem difficult to you, just move your files from one server to another server just like you move files from one space to another. just simple ftp approach or file system, it's upto you.

Yeah of course you can. CoreFTP does it anyway, you have a screen split in 2, 1 is local by default, and 1 remote by default, however you can connect to 2 different servers instead and move files directly.

The number 1 rule for transferring sites is still to use the provided backup/restore tool (for whatever the software or CMS you're using is). If you only transfer the files, the data won't be carried over.
