The most common hosting control interface is CPANEL. Zpanel is an alternative hosting control interface. It is an open source and runs both under Linux and Windows environment. It has been popular as indicated by the number of download hits. Have you tried using Zpanel?

First I hear about Zpanel. Again, I don't run a hosting service so I wouldn't know anyway.

I have never heard about Zpanel.

I am curious what makes it different from Cpanel? Are there any benefits to using it? What services does it provide?

Well, there's no demo on the site as they are apparently doing a total rewrite (which might suggest it wasn't up to scratch in the first place). But still, cPanel is awful - maybe this will prove to be a neater package eventually.

ZPanel is a good free open source webhosting script but it doesn't compare to cPanel.

Someone said cPanel was awful, if so then why is it the most used by far hosting script?
