Does anyone make serious money with web directories nowadays?

It seems that the days of making tons of money with a web directory are over.
There are so many out of there that it is becoming so hard to make money anymore with a web directory.
Anyone disagrees with this? Of course, you would if you are making some serious money with a web directory. Is there anyone who can brag about making hundreds a month with a web directory???

I don't exactly use a Web Directory but I do use a PR-5 Word Cloud. I really think it all depends what you mean good money is. Maybe you could throw out a number when saying that. I made over what I payed for for the site itself with 230 links left. So yes I think it will make serious money for itself. 1000% ROI never hurts on a website and that is about what it is when I am done selling all the PR links on the site.

There is still chances to make money from web directories. Of course, not as much like it was few months ago but still there is good room. You can earn by number of ways like directory submissions, sitewide links, contextual ads, CPM banners etc.

I have some problems, when i creating a web directory. I am still new to it field. i use web site to earn money online.

I don't think directory owners are earning 'directly' from the directories anymore (unless they are an established directory).

Most directory owners are also directory submitters or SEO companies they use directories as a 'marketing vehicle' to spread the word about their services. :-)

I think not. Prove me wrong

Our directory makes about $150 to $300 a month from submissions, featured listings and previously listed sites increasing their bids

We strive hard to promote it and eventually it gets daily submissions

Exactly SR its really depends, but majority of directory owners make little now compare to those days.

i make about $60 a month, sad thing it takes 7 directories to get it
