I have submitted my site to different paid directories, one month ago..
when i search "mysitename.com" in google, i can find the result from directory sites

also....
but when i check the back links "link:mysitename.com" in google, i could not find any

directory site.

Pls let me know wt to do now..??

I have the same question. even after submission to so many Dir's am not getting any backlinks. Anyone knows the reason?

I can think of following reasons:

1. Your submissions are rejected.
2. Your submissions are approved but the directories are not indexed yet.
3. You are using the wrong tool to check backlinks link: domain dot com on google is not accurate use google webmaster tools or yahoo siteexplorer to check for backlinks.

Sometimes they exist, sometimes they don't come out when I search for them in Google and when I searched in Yahoo, I can see some backlinks from directories

Best is that you use yahoo site explorer or google webmaster tools. A simple link: query in Google won't give out a complete list of your backlinks.

May not have been indexed by google yet on the directory. Make sure you use the exact url you entered on the directory too.

Google shows a very small sample of backlinks when you use the link: command. If you check in Webmaster tools, you will see a slightly larger sample, but this also does not show all the backlinks.
