Which reason do you submit your sites into directories for? For Traffic or just a simple backlink to help your page rank?

I do it for PR because I havent met any directories that bring me a lot of traffic.

Most people do it to get backlinks, which should your SERPs.
My experience has been that you almost get no traffic from web directories.

Same with me, i submit to web directories for backlinks mainly but I do get the odd traffic from a few web directories, I definately get a few from DMOZ

Even if I am not asked, I would choose traffic than PR. As of now, PR is not that important, especially for earning money via web. PR is just used to sell links but majority of the visitors would just look for free directories to get links. That makes PR not important anymore.

Most directories won't send you traffic unless you buy a sitewide link. I basically submit to directories for PR. I use other sources (like CPC networks) for traffic needs. If the inner pages of directories also have PR then its worth submitting.

well both really, because you submit your site to directories for back links which thereforte increases your keyword in the serp therefore bringing you traffic

but aswell as that its handy to get ontopic links that will bring genuine traffic and also increase you seo, so you win from both sides with ontopic decent links.

But directories and that give you a boost and get you indexed faster

i doubt most people even use directories. I dont, i just use search engines. so much faster and brings you more results.

I do it mainly to receive back links which should benefit my Google page rank. The only problem that I see more and more happening is that Google is often not counting back links from directories as real back links and therefor not awarding any credit for your PR from such back links.

I submit to directories in order to make backlinks which also help you in improving the SERPs . Regarding , PR and Traffic , I submit to directories for the sake of PR as directories dont bring traffic to the websites .

I do it for the backlinks which in turn increase traffic. The ultimate goal is traffic but you must rank well to generate traffic. Directories are not a good source of direct traffic but quality directories are great at helping you rank.
