Default Is HTML dieing?

php, asp, coldfusion, etc seem to all be gaining popularity super fast...it wasn't but a few years ago that almost everything on the web was html. Then we started finding out that instead of mixing java and html to do cool things...we can just do it all in php or something else similar...

you think html is going to start getting even more popular?

I don't know if you're both confused, but all pages are produced using one flavour or another of HTML. All the server-side stuff does is produce HTML.

No, HTMl is not dying without HTML you couldn't imncorporate any of the server-side scripting languages such as PHP or CSS.

I saw this thread and the exact same thing that Gio just said came into my mind and you couldn't be more right. It is like asking if water is dead and gatorade is in but what main ingredient is in gatorade, water.

I agree with giovanni aswell. HTML is the base of the internet. Without it, everything else will not work. PHP and other scripts spit out HTML. Thats why in a view source you do not get the PHP variables or anything, but rather the content that was called by that script.

HTML tags are used in php files too .. I don't consider it to be dying. I have many scripts running on php/mysql and still the entire template is driven my html tags. Don't see it dying

Why would HTML die?

It's very populer, and if your a first-time Internet user then it'll be easy to use HTML, learn it, without HTML there wil be no websites, (evan though you can use Asp, Java and other web uses)

If html was dead, there will be no forms, nothing.

Thanks.

HTML is still the basis of most webpages. As some people have mentioned, PHP is a server-side script - the output is HTML
