Without a doubt for me has to be Dreamweaver. Easy and efficient.

My favourite is dreamweaver not only for making html pages , but also it is providing simple readymade validation scripts and dynamic pages for insertion and viewing data. Plus some readymade css, frames and readymade flash buttons too.

What else someone wants from editor?

I also vote for dreamweaver. It is the most popular web design software.
I however don't use it. I code everything by hand.

DW tends to add a lot of fluff behind the scenes, from personal experience. Of course, seasoned users know what to do to avoid this, but those of us who read "how to code in 24 hours" books, they end up abusing DW's features and end up with bloated sites.

Based on personal experience, I would recommend either of the following: homesite, intelliJ, Eclipse. Of course, when all else fails and to really show the world that you know what you say you know, notepad comes in real handy

Notepad is what separates the boys from the men. If you can code a site 100% in notepad (that means not relying on some editor to fill in attributes for you, etc), then you are a real webmaster in my books. Did I hear someone say, "notepad is stone age and is not time efficient"? Sure, but again, if you claim to know what you say you know and to have a better appreciation for your trade, code a site in notepad. I still do, every now and then and I can tell you that it isn't easy.

It's best to learn hand-coding; but definitely stay away from FrontPage, as it throws in 100's of useless lines of code and characters that will not let your site validate 100%, therefore causing it to not display properly in all browsers ... DW does the same thing, but just not as severe.

Just download a few free HTML editors, and work with whichever one you get comfortable with.
