Nope, there is no way to do it in CSS. Do a quick google search if you would like more info on that.

But why not just use the tags in html for it? Or let the users choose whether or not they want to open the link in a new window?

No,like chopsticles said CSS is only for formatting. HTML is for the actual commands and content.
Try using target="_blank" in the link code, may be it works !

The reason I wanted to use the target blank in css was that my site is a blog and links are a link blog and there is not way I can access the <a> to be able to add target="_blank" now that this doesn't work in css, I will leave it the way it is (links opens in the same window or tab) and maybe this is for the best ! Thanks very much for your help . *Repped*

Edit: Adding rep is not working , it showing error msg that i should share it to somebody else before giving rep to you 2 again !

Maybe it did half work? Because I got some rep added to my total.

Leaving it as it is isn't so bad after all anyway, I like some don't like having links auto-opening in new windows.

You can also use JavaScript if you must open something in a new window using window.open()

I hope this helps.

Try using onclick="window.open(this.href,'_blank');return false;" instead of target="_blank"
