Default Vertical menu or horizontal menu?

Which type of navigation menu do you like to use in your designs, a vertical one or a horizontal one? I presonally use the horizontal nav menu in most of my designs.

But I would like to listen from you guys, for more ideas.

you can use both if necessary... vertical menus in the upper portion for navigation, and horizontal menu left or right for other features or links...

Well, it depend upon the layout you are creating and type of websites. But as far as my layout concerned my most of layouts are having horizontal menu.

I like more vertical menus, because vertical menus can never be too long unlike horizontal menus can be.

I like it both, one is for the products offered and one is for the main links. But for me, I want the vertical menu because it is simpler than the horizontal one. You can design it better and you can do anything with it.

vertical menus is a more dynamic-friendly approach. most CMS template displays menu in vertical manner.

Horizontal - for those with low resolutions, they at least get to see your menu items without having to scroll.

Yes i think when there is a question of dynamic menus then vertical is the best option but when static is concerned I would prefer to go with horizontal menus.

even with static, fitting menu horizontally is ridiculous.

We have to develop everything keeping clients requirement in the mind. Even if we like horizontal we have to do what client says. I dont think anything wrong with horizontal menu.
