Default Which way do you prefer to build a site?

I admit I'm pretty lazy to tweak and scrutinize tons of code, so I'd prefer using premade templates / CMS to build my site. How about you?

Yes. Me too. No need to re-invent the wheel. If I get a pre-made script, then I go for it first.
However, I don't use pre-made templates as they are likely to be used in many other websites. I like my websites to stand out and be different.

I dont use premade templates, because my clients are always in need of unique layouts, btu sometimes I take idea from template monster templates.

or sometimes I customize template provided by the clients.

I like to look at templates and possibly install them but then revise them and change them to make a look that is unique.

I basically like to use templates for foundations.

Drag and drops are my favorite when designing the theme or making a theme... after that when u talk about Back end... one may have to code... and i like NotePad++ for it..

templates are good but not for everyone.

If you are coding for a prestigioius client and/or want to justify your pay, you are doing them a disservice by using a template - they are unique in their space and need to be treated as such on the web. On the other hand, if you are putting up a site for say your buddy or some guy paying you peanuts for your site, you use a template. Personally, all I have to do is look a page for a few secs to determine if a page is a template. Regardless of who the site is for, all credibility is lost for the coder when I see this. A website is to be creative.

There is no "re-inventing the wheel" when it comes to presentation, but there is when it comes to business logic. If there were, then we wouldn't start all our pages with the html-head-title-body tags.

Templates r the very reason y some of us get paid peanuts in this game. Clients aren't stupid. They know good work when they see it.

I can do coding. I have no problems with it. At the same time using CMS is quite easy and will reduce our work. So, I am also using CMS on one of my site. I have few sites with static HTML pages too.

Unless I have the time, I'd probably just use some premade templates as well.
