Default Looking to start a web design business?

Hi all,
I want to start my own web design business. There are some questions that are luring in my mind. I do have one or two clients to get started but how can I get more and spread my work to masses? How do I start designing for people? Do I need a site that displays my work, etc?

As internet business is growing day by day, web design is buzzing high. As far as getting started and getting more clients is concerned, the best way I have learned is through word of mouth, and also through online. First of all you should settle on a name for your business and design/build a simple portfolio site to showcase your work. More you expose your good work more there are chances to get clients. Starting a web design business comprises a lot of things, so before getting started make sure you are all equipped to get into it.

You need to have a portfolio and some testimonials from existing clients... I know, it's hard, I went through that, but it's worth it :-)

First off, be sure to impress your 2 clients with your work as they would be in your portfolio and can give you feedback on your work. You would definitely need to have a portfolio online for samples of your work.

You can also try to get referrals from your previous clients. Get the word out thru your friends and family members that you are putting up a design company - that always help.

You would be best off to have a website that displays out your old clients and has means of contacting you.

You could also advertise this site via PPC, like Google Adwords.
