I'm not a big fan of WYSIWYG editors, because they tend to make the code messy and hard to edit by hand. Although with my experience frontpage lays the code out nicely.

I've never used expressions for CSS or Dreamweaver before though.
agree with you. using WYSIWYG make the code messy. for html editor, i prefer notepad++ or tswebeditor.

Notepad++ is cool, never really downloaded it, only used it at a friends house. It looks nice, but was always too lazy to download it.

What's tswebeditor?

tswebeditor is a php editor. but support other language like html, sql, css, and many more. i like it becuase tswebeditor have a feature like MS Visual Studio, called intellisense. notepad++ is cool, of course. i use it for replacement of notepad.

I find it almost easier to code real sites on a plain text editor like crimson editor or jedit. Sometimes i use dreamweaver to make limited function mock ups because i don't care if the code is clean for that stage.

I use TextEdit mostly. I hate the sloppyness of WYSIWYG editors. Dreamweaver is the worst in my experience (make nearly impossible to hand edit)

About time!
I got to your post and just sighed, Finally!
Someone who uses a real code editor.

These fancy wysiwyg are so distracting, they do everything for you and you don't learn any coding ><
Only time I use dreamweaver is when I need to code something I'm not sure about, code css (still learning that hehe) or need some color assistance when its an absolute end-option.

Anyways, I only use notepad when using a... urgh... windows...
I prefer VIM, on my custom xandros =]

If you want a good WYSIWYG editor, try Web Page Maker. It's like $30 or something like that but it's very powerful and makes designing webpages a breeze. I've been using it for a couple years.

Other than that, I have to agree - dreamweaver.
