Default Recommended font size

What do you think is the best font size for displaying text in a website?

I guess it depends on the design of the site, but most of the time I use size "2" or 10-12 pt for displaying text. Maybe it's a good idea to use a bigger font size for titles and things like that too.

What do you think?

In my experience (just for paragraphs)

1.3em Tahoma, 2.0em lineheight
1.2em Verdana and 1.8em lineheight
In some cases 1.1em Verdana, 1.8em lineheight also looks good

However I think it's a matter of preference.

I don't know what's the best size. I think it depends on the site. Some need bigger text some smaller, but the thing is that we always have the CTRL plus +/- to resize the font

it depends on the site design and content. In case you don't have much to write, you can use a bigger font or quite visible whereas, if you are targetting IT professionals, who are used to read small, clean fonts, use medium size text.

Yes, as I said before, it depends on site design, but most of the time huge size of font isn't a good option. Small-medium size fonts are the best for displaying content on website, but what to choose is up to site design and you of course.

The best font size to use is whatever the user has their browser set to. It's ok to go larger for headlines and such, but rarely is it wise to go smaller.

Most people are using 10pt. But if you want to go for 12pt is fine. But not anything lower than 10 or greater than 12. It also depends on the font type you're using.

Times New Roman looks one size smaller than Arial, Verdana and Tahoma, so if you were to use Times New Roman, instead of 10pt you can use 10.5 or 11pt instead.

I guess depend on the content of your site. The most suitable size that most sites use is 12pt which is comfortable to read.Title should always be of a bigger font size. But it depends on how good designer you are and how much you know your visitors.
