I have a portfolio to fill out in my art class, but the teacher told me that web-designing is not an art and would not let me do it unless I can convince her otherwise. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me convince this teacher and prove to her that web-design really is an art form? I have read an article from a web design company site about this topic that web design is an art. If you know that then please help me to convince my teacher.

I believe that it is. From time to time, I see a website so beautiful that I visit it just to look at the pages, not actually read them. If you want to find a few, visit the websites of famous web-designers.

Surely this is an art dude. Am sure for any form of art we must have creativity in us. Only then we can consider it as art. And in web-designing we people think very differently for each and every web page design on how to present it and about its rich look. So without imagination one cannot do this job and its the same for art. So this is also an art.

Yeah it sure is an art buddy. Designing and being creative is not everyones cup of tea and you surely need to add the sugar well to make it sweet and simple.
