How do you rank the following free Internet marketing techniques according to efficiency in getting steady traffic to a website selling infoproducts? Something like ranking them from 1 to 5, one being the most efficient and 5 as the last one will help me a lot in completing the research I'm writing.

- forum posting
- article marketing
- link exchanges
- social networks (MySpace, FaceBook, etc.)
- having a blog with link to your site and leaving comments on other blogs

uhh.... selling infoproducts? as in ebook crap? The only one I see of value is article marketing.

If they're quality products, you might do well with paid traffic. Forums can give you targeted traffic if you do it right.

The only point to a link exchange is to get indexed fast. How many real people actually visit the links page. On my site, the links pages gets less than 0.005% of the total traffic on my site. And I'm guessing those people are checking to make sure that I put their link up.

Article marketing has worked very good for me. If you can write, this is a way to get a lot of good traffic. All the article traffic I get from submitting to sites like ezinearticles and ehow is very high quality.

I'd add directories to the list - its a carefree and one of the easiest venue to build your oneway links.

Its just a matter of proper selection so as to assure you that you don't waste time your time bulding backlinks to non-SEO beneficial venues.
