Are you talking about opt in emails?

Opt-in email marketing is a nice way to keep in touch with your previous sign-ups or customers. As to its number, you would be the better judge at that.

I second that. E-mail marketing is a great tool to advertise and drive traffic to your site.
Just make sure that you don't spam.
Unfortunately, to send an ad in a newsletter or opt-in email list is very expensive.

Do not market to random emails.. This is horrible for the name of your business and its not worth it. E-mailing people that are subscribed to you is very effective and should definitely be a consideration.

In earlier times, it's a good marketing tool.. but nowadays, excessive use of it is labeled as spamming

You would either have to have a list of emails from the users of your site or you would have to pay for it. Random bulk emails are not effective for marketing whitehat websites. If you found a newletter with a similar niche then that could be worth advertising in. If you want to send out email ads, google a service for it. The only way to send "bulk emain with a few clicks" would be if you site's software supported emailing the users (i.e. vBulletin).
