SEO is a very complex science. I agree with Chrishirst that actual experience would make you a better judge in determining which works and don't at SEO. I am not an expert nor a newbie as I am continually experimenting on SEO. As per my marketing efforts on our sites, I have concluded that focusing on SERP rather than PR is more viable in drawing the right traffic to our sites PR IMO works best if you are selling ad spaces, links, etc. - please correct me if I am wrong on this. But then again this is my opinion

SEO isn't a complex science by any stretch of the imagination. In fact it isn't even science. Calling it "science" would imply that by doing "x" and "y", "z" would be the end result.

There are "experts" and "gurus" about who like to make it sound like a science or even a "magical world" that only the chosen may visit.
But it ain't. Common sense and some logic is all it needs.

PR is googles way of ranking a website. Some people say it effects search engine ranking but I disagree. If you do a search for any keyword or phrase and look at the #1 listing, then look at the #2 listing, I'm sure you'll see that the #1 listing probably has less PR than the #2. (just an example)

PR is a page rank which is actually a grade mark for all the website give by google according to it quality. this is mainly obtained from good content with rich keyword and quality Backlink.

PR otherwise known as pagerank is the way google tracks the number of backlinks on a particular link. It is an exclusive and excellent way to know about a site on how good it is. A site with higher PR is as good as it increases. pr is from 0-10.

Nope, the useless value of toolbar PR might, but but REAL PR (the one that counts) most definitely isn't.

Not even close, Toolbar PR (which is what you are talking about) is a totally useless metric. It doesn't indicate ANYTHING at all about how good a page is. It is simply an inaccurate snapshot of what the REAL PR was at some point previously.
By the time you see the toolbar PR it's already changed.
