First off, IF you are going to quote or repeat an entire page from somebody elses site, give them the "benefit" of a link. Otherwise it's simply plagiarism.

Second,
Simply repeating "stuff" as fact without testing or verifying it just keeps that myths alive.

DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING about SEO/SEM you "read on the internet" until you can demonstrate to yourself objectively that it is appears to be correct. There are so many so called "experts" and self styled "gurus" who simply seem to make things up and publish it as fact, when a bit of common sense investigation is all that is needed to demonstrate how wrong they are.

REAL PR is a factor in how a page appears in the SERPs albeit a smallish one.
But the value that is exported occasionally to the toolbar has no relation to the real value.
