Well I haven't been that big of a fan of phpBB in a while now, since it seems like lots of forums that I used to go to that were phpBB were constantly getting hacked and such, due to multiple security issues.

Are you talking about the new phpbb.com website or are you talking about their latest phpBB3 script release???
I see that they have changed their website. I guess it looks ok. Nothing to WOW about.
I have not had a chance to test drive phpBB3 yet.

I've heard that phpBB gets a lot of spam. Can anyone confirm wether this is true? Personally, I prefer vBullietin and SMF.

Some phpBB forums can get a lot of spam but there are loads of different mods that you can install which stops your forum getting loads of spam.

I have used a lot of scripts for my forum but I don't like phpBB because its having a lot of loopholes that means any hacker can hack your phpBB forum very easily. So, is there anything else you like to clear up.

phpBB can become a very powerful BBS if you install a number of mods. But it’s rather time consuming. Upside is that phpBB and all mods are free. By the way, if you use a proper mod like [RC2] Anti Bot Question, you can easily shut out spam posts.

I had used phpbb a lot, and I like it. Talking about security holes can anyone guarantee your forum will not be hacked just because use are using ipb or vb.
I recently saw a forum using vb hacked, its link dutchdesignz.com
Phpbb provided fixes and security updates as well.
It had so many mods to get in par with the paid forums.
I like Phpbb.
