To host or not to host your blog

What are the advantages of hosting your own blog versus using blogging services like blogger.com, wordpress.com or livejournal.com?
Currently, I have my blog at blogger.com and I am debating whether to keep it there or host my own blog. For the professional bloggers here, is there any benefit to host your own blog?

The advantages to host your own blog and have domain name is getting full control of your own blog. You can be free add your own plug-in and theme. Also you can add google adsense to get more money.

Yes to have your own host its good impression if you use the free host of the bloggers so it wont give you that much good reputation . And using own hosting is reallly cool i am having my own hosting and providing cpanel11 hosting .

I'm prefer to use my own host. Its good and you can do many thing that you use others host. Its good if you have many time to do that. Of course it takes some money. But i think its not too expensive..
