Default Favourite Forum Software

Lets start this one before there are a bunch of posts about "which is the best forum...", "xxxx is easily hacked..." etc.

Which is your favourite forum software?

Mine is phpBB, kept up to date and it hasn't been hacked in ages! I love the amount of mods available and ease of modification in the templates when I want to change the design.

What is yours?

yep, phpBB's my favorite too. Unfortunately the site's down...

http://www.phpbb.com/

The mods are great, and provide so much extra functionality to the boards. Or maybe I'm just biased, haven't had much opportunity to work with Simple Machines/MyBB... (yet).

I prefer the Invision Board it gives you a lot of flexibility and control over your forum.

I had the phbb forum before but switched when I heard about it and never looked back. For me it is the best one.

Mine is vBulletin. I am more used to it. I like the admin and mod functions better than the limited options that phpBB provides.
I have not tried any other forum script other than vBulletin or phpBB, therefore I can not speak about other scripts.

phpBB is for me as its free and if worlds largest forum can succesfully run on phpBB then why should i feel that phpBB isnt good enough...

and the version 3.0 would certainly include good features...

Without a doubt vbulletin, though it's costly especially if you're just getting into the world of webmasters, it certainly is the best and well worth the investment.

phpBB is horrible. This is not a thread for which forum software is the cheapest. If it were so phpBB would deffenatly be the winner, but thats not the case. phpBB is ugly, even with more skins. It has a lot fewer addons. Its an exploit playground.

I voted vBulletin

Default vBulletin is ugly, alot uglier than the subSilver style. Invision probably is the nicest looking out of the box. How exactly does phpBB have "a lot fewer addons", did you see the mods database before? There were crap-loads, probably not so much now because of the new phpBB being released.

It's not an exploit playground if you aren't foolish with it, i.e not installing unvalidated mods and keeping it up to date.
