Is there any value to adding a blog on a forum?

Hi,

Just wanted to see what you guys think about adding a blog to your forum.
vBulletin now offers a blog that could be used with the forum. Do you see any value in adding a blog to your forum?

adding a blog? the forum is similar to blog already.

The blog function vbulletin has made is actually so your members can have a blog, I think it is a great idea for a sense of community. Members can blog right within the forum, in a community where they're familiar with others and keep up-to-date with one another at the click of a button.

Works well in some forums, but not in others. If a forum is rather small and not well publicized, then its members don’t have an incentive to start blogging in the forum. So, this might not work well. On the other hand, if the forum is very popular and if it’s a kind of forum that members want to advertise themselves, then blog might become a good addition.
