Where did PHP and all the other come from?

My question is all these years we had been using html, and nobody had discovered any other programming languages for web designing then how come these all programming stuff came along all of a sudden and what had been the reason behind it?

PHP has been publically available since 1995 and CGI allowed the use of practically any language from 1993... Have YOU just discovered these languages, by any chance?

Harry, PHP has ben very long in existance. Maybe you came to know about it very recently, but indeed it is in industry since very long.

PHP was designes by Lerdorf and appeared in 1995.. Lerdorf created this to replace a small set of Perl script he had been using to maintain his personal homepage..

PHP has been out for a long while. I think that PHP is meant to be discovered right after HTML.

I don't know when PHP was "discovered", but I know for sure that is too damn old, not older than his/her mother, HTML.lol.

Initially, the code he wrote to power PHP was so messy. Team in Israel took a look at it and cleaned it up. I guess you can say that this became a pretty solid foundation of today's PHP.

you are partially right. In the begining it was only html to deal with but as requiremnents grew and there was need of some language to do more just displaying text and images some other languages like perl, java came into being. PHP is most successful because it mostly deal with web development and it's simple to learn, and free to use.

when java was launched to public, it is meant for web development. it enriched the content of an idle HTML page. while PHP is web developers favorite when in comes to server-side programming.
