Default Do adbrite ads slow your site?

Do adBrite ads slow down your website?

I used to have them on one of my sites and noticed that the website was loading slower.
When I removed the ads, the website started loading faster.

I don't know if it was something with adBrite on that day but I never put their ads back on my website after that.

I wouldn't be completely shocked.
I haven't really used the system, but I have seen them on sites and I wouldn't be surprised if members with lower-end machines lagged from it.

Stick to simple things like Google adds if you must, and have a bit of private advertising here and there (adverts you have organized).
If moneys a factor, Yahoo! is paying more then Google, and probably uses less bandwidth.

Yeah but Yahoo targeting sucks. You get mostly irrelevant ads!

I never used Yahoo, I waited for half an hour and their page didnt load, so I never installed it.
Meh, my ad-infested-webpage days are over, I'll just make my money back on hosting subscriptions and Supporter donations
