Default Wikipedia Links

Just wondering if this news is true.. it seems that Wikipedia have decided to re-add No Follow tags to their outbound links.

Is this true?

Moreover, do search engines and especially Google obey No Follows?

I think yes, Wikipedia has a campaign for anti-spamming. Meaning, they prevent webmasters using their site for SEO purposes.

No follows could not obey it because search engines could not enter the link if there is a nofollow command

the Spiders That's why Wiki used that

Not sure if that's true or not.
Anyway, only the Google Search Engine ignores links with no follow attribute.
There is no evidence that other search engines (MSN Live Search or Yahoo Search) take into account the no follow attribute.
Therefore, if the links won't help you with Google, they might still help you with other search engines.
Google isn't the only search engine that you should be aiming for.

I always use wiki, I am glad wiki take this decision of nofollow link. It will definitely cut down the spam in wiki. We should wait for the effects of this.

it wouldn't surprise me if wikipedia did this, and they should. there are some things on the internet that i have no problem going on and trying to sneak a little advertisement in here and there, but i view wikipedia a little bit differently. there has been a lot of work put into it from people all over who aren't looking for anything in return. it's crossed my mind once or twice to go add my link to the bottom of something relevant but i won't just because ive got a lot of respect for the site. i don't think wikipedia even generates any money besides donations, does it? ive never seen any advertisements or anything on there, i cuold be wrong though.

No-follow will definitely cut down the spam. Sites such as wikipedia might still however be a good source of targeted traffic for some people, until the link is removed.
