I'm going to show my ignorance, but what do these mean? I would guess it has something to do with traffic, but I could be wrong. What is the criteria for both?
PR means Page Rank. This is how Google determines the importance of each page.
Every webpage that is indexed by Google is assigned a Page Rank from 0 to 10. The more important Google thinks the page is, the higher the page rank it gets. For example, Google.com has a PR of 10. Wikipedia has a PR of 8.
While no one outside of Google knows the exact algorithm used to assign a pagerank for each page, some people say that it depends on the number of backlinks you have and also where your links. For example, if you have your link on a page that has a higher pagerank, chances that it will increase your pagerank.
You can download the google toolbar for free and see the page rank for each page you visit.
Please note, that pagerank are updated every so often. So you are not likely to see a pagerank continuously changing.
Thank you for answering my question. It seems like free toolbars are everywhere now. I've got Yahoo toolbar on my site at the moment. Can you have more than one toolbar and choose which one you want to use at different times? What I mean is can you hide one so both aren't showing on your site at the same time?
You can have as many toolbars as you want installed on your web browser. However, you may not have any screen left on your browser if you download too many toolbars
PageRank is one of the methods Google uses to determine a page’s relevance.Important, high-quality sites receive a higher PageRank, which Google remembers each time it conducts a search. The algoritham google uses for page ranking is still a mystery or does anyone kno ?
