Do you guys use different meta tags for your site,like i have many products for selling so can i use different meta tags for every page or i have to use just selected keywords and description for whole site??

I would make each page have certain meta tags related to the content for that page. The URL and the Title of the page is the biggest thing for SEO. If your keywords go along with the URL and Title of the page it will get better placement.

I agree with mh. I customize the metatag for each page. If it's an article, I usually use the first 2 sentences to give the person who's searching an idea of what's on the page. When you search for a page, the description that comes up under results in Google is usually the meta tag so you want something there to make the user interested.

meta tags are not that importan anymore - especially for google bot

They aren't as important as the title and actual URL but they do have some standing. Don't overload the page with keywords, won't help it, will only hurt your cause.

The description meta tag may not be that important for Goolge ranking, but it is what your potential visitors will see and should be worded to encourage clicks...IMO.

Actually the description meta tag is the only one that matters as it shows up in the search engine results page. So make it something catchy that one of your target visitors would want to click on.

Meta tags are outdated and not very important these days.

You want to use title, h1, and h2 tags.

I agree that the description tag is important. The rest do not matter and even the description does very little for SEO. It just gives you a better looking listing in the search results.
