Default Is google trying to control the entire net?

From the incidents that have been happening of late, i have a vague doubt that google is trying to be the rule of the entire net. As google can be termed as the gateway to the internet, i guess they are trying to overdo it by imposing restrictions on everything and anything, what do u say?

Who wouldn't want to have control over the internet?

What they are trying to do is improve on their service. The restrictions being imposed are just part of their way to serve their users better.

I'd rather have google running the net than microsoft..lol. Google is great and they have power. I would actually feel comfortable if Google ran the net as opposed to MS

I would rather see more competition from Yahoo, MSN and some other future semantic search engine with breakthrough technology. More competition is good for evening the playing field and making sure no one entity controls the Internet.
