Default Google Going mad at directories?

What is this all buzz about google penalising all the directories because they are using paid links on their sites and B/S links with other blogs? HJow unfair is that?

directories are the first they will get and the others will follow next. they don't mind people sells or buys link but put on the paid link the nofollow tag. that's all. it is that such a big thing to follow. there is a reason why google made that rule.

That can't be true. There are many quality web directories and as far as paid linking is concerned, it's not always that webdirectories involve in that.
Google itself has adwords, adsense, and sponosred links on google search page.
I think if google really wants to have fair linking comparison, it should evalutate itself first.

Google is only going after directories which sell links, they are not going after directories which charge money for the review or are completely free. Take for instance Yahoo! Directory; it hasn’t been hit by Google penalties.
