I think too many ads make a site look messy, so I only have one banner setup at my directory

I would suggest you to go for text add rather than banner..

Conversion ration of text adds seems higher than banner

I have adsense for text and referrals as well in my blogs.

Dont apply the adsense all over the site and certainly not on the header. Gives a really bad impression of your site and reduces the traffic considerably.

What if it is under the header? Is it also a bad. You can check my blog here if you don't mind or the third link in my sig. Please tell me if it is not good so that I will remove it immediately.

if u keep banner on the website then it will take more time to load and the server wil ltake more time to execute the site page.so better go for simple form such as logo,text logo etc.

I think its easy to setup your ads in your site. If you use blog. i think its more easier to setup it and you can choose which one ads you like and put at your site. Its easy anyway.

Additional to blogger, it also support now an inline ads in your post. Inline ads meaning there is an ads you can see after your post.
