Default 6 months for adsense approval?

Hi,
I applied for adsense approval for one of my blogs.I was shocked to see their response as they have mentioned that I need to wait for atleast 6 months to get approval. But many say they got approval quickly. What's wrong in my case?

What am I missing?

Not true at all. Adsense contacted me within the first week already. The rule is though, that you should sign up with a website being older than 6 months. So you can't sign up with a new website, it should be a more established one

Yes the blogs which get quickly approved are on websites more than 6 months older.

While new blogs on new sites have to wait.

it could be happen with anyone becasue these to be auto messages so do not worry one day you will get mail that your account is approved. I have already faced this case.

Most probably your blog is too new to them.

I got my approval in less than a week...maybe your site is breaking some rule or something

Yes, I think that a six month wait is strange, but I suppose it makes sense that a site should be online for a significant period of time to help deter spam.
