I plan to set up an animal adaption website like this one:

Though I want this to be a success, I'm not doing this for a monetary reason at this time (I don't get into details ...). Is anyone familiar with this type of websites? If so, how do I go about this? How can I get started ...?

Also this particular website looks like a blog, but is it using one of those blog software like WordPress or it's simply that the design looks kind of like it?
