Default Java Scripting or Ajax?

I like to start a new website in which I will use Java programming but few of my friends told me to use Ajax. I am not much satisfied with Ajax. So, what should I use now. Any help please.

Thanks a lot.

you haven't mention what exactly you want to achieve.
Java and ajax has nothing in common. Infact ajax stands for "asynchronous javascript and xml" . Java is a complete programming language with capability to program lots of secenarios where as ajax helps to send and retrieve information from webserver without refreshing or submitting the form.

The choice is actually yours, but I'd opt for AJAX. Well, as things are at the moment, I'd even skip the XML part for the moment. As you know, web standards are undergoing constant revision and soon you'll find certain commands getting obsolete or incompatible with some browsers and/or servers. I actually use the following combination for my work at present:

Client - Javascript, XHTML (at least close to its standard)
Server - PHP
Database - MySQL

If you have the time to constantly revise your code, you can easily bring in XML. But before you do, first verify if you really need it.

All the best

I don't know much about the topic, but I saw sites usually works better with AJAX. I usually get too many errors with Java scripts when I add them to any of my sites. AJAX still cause some errors, but aren't as much as Javascript, at least in my case.

I think there is a bit of confusion here. What exactly do you mean by preferring AJAX to Javascript? Please note that the J in AJAX IS Javascript.

Don't think of AJAX as a 'product' - rather it is a 'technology' - a combination of Javascript with XML.

So I really don't understand what you mean by 'having less errors on AJAX'. But I DO know this. As a first step, it is always best to make your HTML pages XML compliant. And to do this, what I'd advise is to convert all HTML pages to XHTML. Thereafter, you should focus on bringing in the rest - Javascript + XML.

Happy coding.
