Default Any tips for affiliate marketing?

I would like to be able to make some money with affiliate marketing, but it's slow going. I know I need to have traffic, but how much do I need per day to make $200 a month? Just a ballpark figure for me to aim for. I've joined the Bravenet webring and Link Referral and I'm getting more traffic, but I'm not getting a whole lot.

Just curious, how much traffic are you getting from the bravenet webring? Webrings are a thing of the past and I did not think they worked anymore.
I have been very successful at affiliate marketing, so I am afraid I can not provide you any tips.

I just started using the webring, so I don't know how well it will work. This one uses a popunder and everytime I view my site I get a popunder for someone else's website. Why aren't webrings used much anymore?

These webrings do not get a long term visitors. So you cannot get sustained traffic to your website. It is better to keep creating content regularly and updated the site more regularly to increase its ranking the search engines which will eventually get traffic to the website.

I think the best way to promote affilate programs is to do them indirectly. A lot of the products that I have purchased over the years teaches you how to do this.

Of course if you do decide to promote the page directly Traffic Exchanges are always a good option. You have to do some work there though so it is up to you. I don't have any experience with webrings but I do know I have had some success using the Get Paid to Read sites when it comes to driving traffic to my website for low cost.

There're so many ways of getting in traffic..a few common ones include article marketing, forum marketing, Email marketing, Blogging, PPC and Ezine.

Simply choose one you're comfortable with and focus on it.

Those webrings just give the user an annoying popunder that they exit without glancing at. the only cases that would be useful is if all you must do is get the user to go to the page.

There is no real way for someone to give you a ballpark figure on how much traffic you need to earn $200 a month...we don't know what you are affiliated with...

do you make 2cents per sale, or $50 per sale...that's a rather important bit of information for someone to make an accurate guess (and a guess is all you will get)...

there are tons of things that have to be factored in, your site navigation, ease of use, out going and in coming links, design, niche, and then you have to take into account what the average click-through/sale ratio would be...

so as you can see...there are a lot of things there that make it almost impossible to make a really good estimate...but even if we could, we'd need more info.

Don't focus how much you will get but instead find a way to make that first sale.
if you already got 100 click to your affiliate program but still no sales don't continue the campaign to the same page. There is a possibility you might not get a sales even with 1000 click. Something is already wrong in your campaign and the you promote it so you got to analyze that. the best way to get a sale is to pre-sell.
