Default MSN = low traffic and high costs?

I'm just wondering if my experience with AdCenter is similar to what others are seeing ...

So far this month, my AdCenter traffic is about 1/10th my Adwords traffic, and my AdCenter traffic costs over 50% more. This is for the exact same keywords and ads, same bidding strategies used, etc.

I'm barely making a positive ROI from AdCenter and the really low volume has me thinking it's not worth my time.

Another oddity is the way my ROI from AdCenter fluctuates so much on a day to day basis. One day it will be decent, the next day it's actually negative, etc. Both Google and Yahoo are very steady on a day to day basis.

Conversions from AdCenter traffic is actually slighter higher than both Google and Yahoo, however the fact that my AdCenter ads cost 50%+ more nullifies that real quick.

The only thing I can think of to get more traffic from MSN is to use more phrase and/or broad matches, but I assume this will only lower my ROI even more. I won't know until I test it, but I'm pretty sure that's what will happen.

Is my experience with AdCenter similar to yours?
