I know nothing about javascript, but if you can repost your code along with commentation on what you believe does what, then I can help in trying to fix it.

But, I don't know JS so we my knowledge will be limited.

Also, what exactly are you doing?
Is it just a search function? Or is it similar to the boxes on yahoo where you click one button, it displays one piece of content, then click another one to display other content?
